Acronis Backup and Restore problems

Acronis sets incorrect partition table properties

We have narrowed this problem to the fact that some old computers are very fuzzy about the partition table and if doesn't have the correct parameters it will not load the operating system.
When this happens all you get is a flashing cursor, Read disk error or Operating system not found. We have tried many different tools to fix the MBR and none of them worked only because the MBR is fine , but the computer cannot read the partition table.
The only way we have found how to fix the problem is using the windows XP disc.
After you boot from the Windows disc you need to choose to do a quick format and when it starts copying the windows files you can interrupt it restart the computer and if you get "NTLDR missing or corrupt" message you are ready to go. Start acronis again and this time it completes the restore it will work OK. It takes a bit more time, but if it is important to restore the image this is the only way to do it.

Missing Drivers or Drivers Conflicts

If you get a black screen and the computer stops reading from the hard drive or you get a blue screen of death and it restarts this is caused by missing Hard drive drivers or drivers conflict. The BSOD will help you determine the cause. Normally the computer will restart immediately making it difficult to see the error, but if you press F8 before windows loads and choose "Disable automatic restart on system failure" it will stop on the blue screen so you can see which one it is.

Blue Screen Of Death

Black Screen of Deatch Error
If the error message on the BSOD is 0x0000007B this is definitely due to wrong Hard Drive drivers. If you are absolutely sure you have installed the correct drivers, try to change the Sata mode from AHCI(Native) to IDE(Compatibility) in the Bios. Otherwise search for the correct drivers on the manufacturer's website.

Now if you only get black screen and no blue screen error , We have bad news, we haven't found a way to fix this one. We are quite sure it happens due to wrong Video drivers or some driver conflict , but haven't found any way to solve the problem
