Emotions and Technology

Emotions and Technology, how do these two go along you might ask. Well, we have exciting news for you! Behold dear Vip readers, a new star arises at the tech scene – computer software that reads the movements of your mouse and reacts according to the way you feel! Yes, you heard us well.

Researchers at the Brigham Young University have confirmed that we all use our mouse differently while browsing depending on our moods.

Surprisingly, people who are angry tend to use the mouse in a rather slow manner and people who are confused or frustrated are not precise in their mouse clicks.

Professor Jeff Jenkins explains that his research can advance the understanding of web developers about the user experience. They would easily identify where people have difficulties or get annoyed while browsing. To know what causes the user to stay or leave a page will be far easier and this can be a true game changer!

The future holds a brand new perspective on the relationship between developers and users. The intuitiveness of the web will be of true benefit for both sides. We can now freely talk about bringing the communication platforms and devices on an entirely new level. Instead of discussing interactivity, we would rather use terms like “sensing” and “feeling”.

Jenkins expects that similarly to the mouse clicks, the swipes and taps on mobile devices can also be tracked, so that the overall experience on all devices is drastically improved.

We all at Vip Consult are so thrilled about the future of technology. Stay tuned!
