Laptop Screen Types and sizes
The laptop screens are separated by size, aspect ratio , connector type , resolution and light source type.
Standard aspect ratio sizes and resolutions :
13.3", 14.1" and 15" at resolutions of :1024x768 or 1280x800, 1400x1050
Wide aspect ratio sizes and resolutions :
13.3" ,14", 14.1" , 15.4" , 17" at resolutions of :1280 x 800, 1440x900 , 1680x1050, 1920x1200
Super wide aspect ratio sizes and resolutions:
13.1", 15.6" , 16" , 17" at resolutions of : 1366x768 1600x900 1920x1080
The light source for the screens are CCFL or LED :
CCFL type which use a very small fluorescent bulb and these use 20pin or 30pin connectors
LED type which use many Light-emitting diodes and they use 30pin, 40pin or 50pin connectors
LED screens are the same price as CCFL , but they last 2-3 times more due to their new technology. Unfortunately there is no easy way to replace your CCFL with a LED screen to use this advantage
